Sweetcorn liquid on mielies — what SA bank anglers already do

Mielies are already in your bag

If you're a South African bank angler, you're probably already fishing maize — cooked mielies, canned sweetcorn, or tiger nuts. It's cheap, it's effective, and carp have been caught on it at every dam in the country. You don't need to change what's working.

What the liquid adds

Maize on its own has a mild scent profile. Honey Pot Sweetcorn attractant amplifies that profile at a range your hook bait alone can't achieve. Dip your mielies in the liquid before casting, or add it to your feeder mix to create a scent corridor that pulls fish from distance toward what they already recognise as food.

How to do it

Pour a small amount of Sweetcorn attractant into a bait tub. Add your prepared mielies and shake to coat. Leave for a few minutes if you have time — the kernels absorb the liquid and carry the scent into the water as they soften on the bottom. Use the same attractant in your feeder mix to keep the scent profile consistent from feeder to hook bait.

The result

You're not changing your bait. You're making the bait you already use more detectable. One bottle of Sweetcorn liquid, the mielies you already pack, and a Honey Pot feeder to carry the mix — that's a complete rig upgrade with no extra SKUs.
