How to Use the Honey Pot Carp Feeder
The Honey Pot Carp Feeder is a slow-release method feeder. It works by holding Honey Pot Chum attractant inside a sealed internal chamber, which releases the scent gradually through 21 hexagonal vents over the course of your session. Here is how to set it up and fish it.
What You Need
- 1 × Honey Pot Carp Feeder (R35)
- 1 × Honey Pot Chum Carp Attractant (R55, any flavour)
- Groundbait or method mix (your choice)
- Standard method feeder rig or Honey Pot rig
Not sure which flavour to use? See the Honey Pot Chum Flavour Guide for a condition-by-condition breakdown. If you want all five flavours and three feeders in one purchase, the 5-Flavours + Feeders Bundle (R349) is the complete starting kit.
Step-by-Step Setup
- Choose your flavour. For murky or coloured water, use Durban Beachfront or Garlic. For clear or cooler water, Scopex, Honey, or Sweetcorn.
- Fill the chamber. Unscrew the lid and use the Honey Pot Chum nozzle to fill the internal chamber directly. Do not overfill — leave space for the lid to seat correctly.
- Screw the lid back on firmly. The lid and central tube keep the syrup contained until the feeder is in the water.
- Apply groundbait or method mix around the outside of the feeder, pressing it into the honeycomb surface. This gives carp a loose feed zone around your hook bait.
- Rig as normal. The Honey Pot Feeder is compatible with standard method feeder rigs. Place your hook bait directly on or near the feeder.
- Cast to your spot and wait. The 21 hexagonal vents release the attractant steadily. You do not need to recast frequently — the chamber continues to release scent for the duration of your session.
After Your Session
Unscrew the lid and central tube and rinse with water. The feeder is fully disassemblable for thorough cleaning. Allow to dry before storing.
Tips
- On high-pressure water, use a stronger-scent flavour (Durban Beachfront or Garlic) and cast to showing fish rather than open water.
- The feeder can be used without groundbait — the internal chamber attractant alone creates a feeding zone.
- All Honey Pot Chum flavours are PVA-friendly, so you can combine the feeder with a PVA bag on the same rig.
